Says Who Studios and thier awesome illustration work

Today we chat to the good folks at Says Who studios. We welcomethem to the SA Creative Network.

Please tell our readers who you are, what you do and who’s in the team.

We’re a design and illustration studio based in Johannesburg. The team is Nicholas Christowitz, Lauren Schultz and Shaun Hill.

You’ve worked on some awesome brands like Nike, Look& Listen and SL Magazine; tell us about your creative highlights.

We loved working on Chicken Licken with the awesome people from Network#BBDO.

It was really cool illustration work and everyone loved it. Another big highlight was doing the cover of Design Indaba magazine for the ‘youth’ issue. We pretty much had free reign and it was a huge honour for us.

What are you working on at the moment and what are your hopes for the future?

We just finished up a set of posters for Design Indaba and DubeTradeport, and are busy with some new creative projects that we don’t want to reveal too much about but will hopefully be able to show to everyone soon.

We’d love to have our own super slick studio one day, surrounded by other creatives and possibly have our own Slush Puppy machine. We’d love to have a steady range of amazing clients and lots of free time to do awesome personal work, too. But that would be life in a perfect world.

What advice would you give to our young creatives in South Africa looking to make a business out of their skills?

Be prepared to work hard and eat tons of humble pie. But persevere, hone your craft and be confident in your abilities. Know what your strengths are and promote them as much as you can.
