Last week a Cape Town based illustrator who is represented by Zulus Can Draw, Elise Wessels got one of her pieces published in The Netherlands.
This was for the Adformatie’s (Dutch advertising journal published weekly) Podium section. Podium is a full page section in the publication dedicated to offering a platform for contributors to create a visual statement, reflection or message directed at the industry. The brief is open and the artist can choose their own theme or message.
Below is the artwork and a description of the concept:
DRAWING FOR MONEY
“Our passion, as artists, is to create beautiful work. But as we lose ourselves in the commercial world, do we lose our integrity too? Are we still creating from passion or driven by other motives?”
The section is Curated by Dolly Rogers http://www.dollyrogers.com/ , an advertising agency based in Amsterdam.
