Today we chat with, all rounder artist Gisela Calitz about her love for retouching.
Who is Gisela Calitz and what do you do?
Best way to describe me would probably be model/designer/retoucher but I am focusing all of my energy on retouching at the moment, so from this we can derive that I love all things that are beautiful and inspirational.
How would you define your style or art?
Pop art with a feminine touch. I have always seen myself as someone that can express the feeling of an image by using color to illustrate an emotion and adding a painting like feel without making it look fake.
What inspires your work?
I am always inspired by current trends and great ideas and off course interesting contrasting use of color and textures. I also love doing yoga to keep my mind clear and focused and study human behavioral patterns and try understand the way they would respond to different colors and images.
What are you currently working on?
I am busy planning my trip to New York and I am starting a Photoshop course online via Skype really soon in order to be more flexible to peoples schedules and time.
What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?
Be ready to work hard and never stop, it takes a lot of patience and time to perfect images and stand out amongst others. Don’t be afraid to be daring and find a skill that is uniquely yours.
