Interactive motion designer Francois van der Elst share his Photography with us

Good morning creatives! Today we have a chat with Frank about his work and beautiful photography! Enjoy!

Who is Frank and what do you do?

I was born in Cape Town and have spent a lot of time traveling the continent and abroad. I studied Digital MultiMedia Design and a few short photography courses. I’m currently employed full time as a senior interactive and motion designer, I’ve gotten more involved with photography in the last 4 years and take this on as a freelance skill.

How would you define your style or art?

I don’t think I have a definate style. Shooting travel, fashion, weddings, portraits etc, I think my style changes depending on what im shooting as well as the feeling im wanting the photo to give.

What inspires your work?

Traveling or just being in new places. The photography I enjoy most is documenting a trip, its one of the things I look forward to most when away from home.

What are you currently working on?

I’m in the process of planning an exhibition with an amazing and artistic framer. Some of the images from this last Mozambique trip will be contributing to that as well as a couple more trips coming up.

What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?

Its a difficult industry, ideally you would need to spend every day developing your skill. There a lot of photographers out there..what makes you different 🙂
