The creative industry has often been accused of being a closed shop, where opportunities remain within a limited group, but a new global creative collaborative, Creative Nestlings, is determined to bring an inclusive voice into the sector.
Cape Town-based, Creative Nestlings is a social initiative focused on developing and connecting emerging talent (aged 16-30) in the creative industries via online platforms, as well as through events, workshops, and in the form of a physical space.
The newly revamped Creative Nestlings website www.creativenestlings.com has been relaunched as a central hub to connect creatives, showcase work, share knowledge and bridge the gap between emerging creative talents and industry veterans by profiling global and local creatives.
With far-reaching plans to collaborate on projects, events and ideas beyond geographic boundaries, the site will also house video series and opinion pieces from creative industry leaders.
Creative Nestlings joined forces with Cape Town Partnership, custodian of the Creative Cape Town project this year to engage Cape Town’s creative community in making collaboration with emerging talent a reality. Through information shared across both Creative Cape Town’s and Creative Nestling’s platforms there will be a greater reach into the creative community and more opportunities to make connections for Cape Town’s future creative frontrunners.
