Hello Hi Creatives! Today we have a chat with Illustrator Ninjabreadboy, Enjoy and happy start to the new week!
Who is Ninjabreadboy and what do you do?
I’m an illustrator based in Cape Town
How would you define your style or art and what inspires your work?
It’s very line based I guess, I’ve always been very obsessed with skateboarding and the visual aspects there of. Graffiti outlines, and the bold line work of western traditional tattooing have intrigued me since I was about 11. I’m also very influenced by my surroundings and the people, sub-cultures, politics, etc. that goes along with it. I think my style is just a mash-up of all of it.
What are you currently working on?
At the moment I’m busy working on some small artworks and editioned prints that I’ve wanted to do for a while.
What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?
Just work a lot. If you don’t have anything lined-up, come up with an idea and execute it as if you were hired to do it. Just do everything to the best of your ability and put as much time into it as possible.
