Happy Go Lucky Creative Minette Wasserman Blesses us with her animations and illustrations

It our birthday and we’re turning TWO! And what better way to start our day (and yours) by showcasing cool animations and illustrations by Minette Wasserman. Happy birthday Sa Creatives! Happy Thursday and Enjoy!

Who is Minette Wasserman and what do you do?

I would descibe myself as a happy-go-lucky creative who’s obsessed (And I do mean obsessed) with animated films, Pokemon, cats, tattoos and design.

At the moment I’m busy with my 3rd and final year at The Open Window, majoring in 3D animation, and trying to design and illustrate as much as I can on the side, animation gets me worked up at times and drawing or illustrating helps me relax.
How would you define your style or art?

I try to have the end goal of a project define my style instead of the other way around. I do however tend to have a more feminine, sometimes cute and fun style.

What inspires your work?

I find inspiration in many different places, from students and friends at The Open Window, online, but mostly in animated films, they give me the urge to create. When I watch them I see so many different art forms come together as one final project, it makes me want to create something just as amazing.

What are you currently working on?

An animated short film with a friend, it’s called Dragon Mom, hopefully we can get it done by the end of this year. At the same time I’m working on a script for another animated short film about a hairless cat.

What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?

If there’s one thing I wish I did more it is drawing. Other than that be passionate, if you’re not passionate in your creative field you won’t get far. If you’re passionate you’ll practice and work hard by default, many people think creative fields require talent, but it’s really just passion and practice.

Where can our readers follow your work?

On, As soon as I have more animated pieces I will be adding screen shots with links to the videos on Behance as well.

Who is better, Michael Jackson or Prince? (who do you prefer if you had to choose?)

I would say Michael Jackson, I always found his music videos very entertaining as a kid and his dance moves were awesome.
