Who is Shaun Hill and what do you do?
I am a illustrator and artist based in Johannesburg.
How would you define your style or art?
I don’t think I have a particular style as my work is constantly evolving. I’m always trying new techniques and experimenting with both digital and traditional mediums.
What inspires your work?
I’m inspired by all sorts of things – from the city I live in, to the people around me but working with tight deadlines has also taught me that sometimes, you don’t have time to find your inspiration, the work just need to be done.
What are you currently working on?
I’m working towards an exhibition that will take place around August at the Kalashnikovv Gallery. (@kalashnikovvgallery)
I’ll be selling prints and original artwork on the AKEDO online store which launches next month. (@elenilabrou)
And I’ve got some rad projects coming up in collaboration with Dolph and Lundgren. (@dolphshop)
What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you
Keep practicing what you do, don’t worry about what you think others want you to create, concentrate more on what you want to create.
