Philip Ireland, John Davenport, Susan Napier and Adene Van Der Walt were joint winners of The Annual AdFocus 2014 Agency Leader of the Year award. They were awarded for their shared role in establishing Ireland/Davenport as one of the industry’s fastest-growing, most respected communications agencies. The accolade is testament to the agency’s true spirit of partnership.
Roshene Singh, ex-Chief Marketing Officer of SA Tourism and past Client of Ireland/Davenport comments: “This truly is a case of the sum of the parts being greater than the whole. Together they have led Ireland/Davenport over the past ten years, from very humble beginnings as a three man start-up that turned the South African advertising industry on its head when it was awarded BMW in December 2005, to the present day, where it stands proud as one of the most successful, respected agencies in the country, that counts Vodacom, SA Tourism, Investec, BMW and Edcon amongst others, as its clients.”
“Remaining consistently true to our founding principles, establishing true partnerships with our clients, employing those that we deem to be the most talented individuals in the industry, as well as working towards a clear vision since inception, has enabled us to build Ireland / Davenport into the agency it is today. We thank our staff and our clients for all their support and belief, without whom none of this would have been possible. We are both proud and humbled by this award,” is the joint statement from the leaders of Ireland/ Davenport.
The award confirms an outstanding period for Ireland/Davenport, with multiple local and international awards highlights which included Millward Brown South Africa’s Best Liked ads 2013 for Vodacom “Baby”, AdReview Gauteng Agency of the Year, one of the top 3 performing South African advertising agencies at D&AD and a Webby finalist for the “Right to know” viral campaign.
Ireland/Davenport also went on to launch two specialized digital divisions, namely ID Digital and V1RU$.
