Ace Expensive Girfriend came second at Creative Circle Ad of the Month for November/December, announced this week. Frieze Film’s Malo 8 directed the TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris ad.
Creative Circle judging chair Brett Morris, CEO of FCB South Africa, called Expensive Girlfriend “a very simple idea that brings the thought to life that Ace reminds you of the food your mother cooks for you. They did that by swopping out a mom for the guy’s friends in a humorous conversation, so a very nice thought there.”
The ad was also named joint Best of Reel in ididthatad’s monthly SA Film Reel, judged by Alistair King, and was awarded an Orchid in Brendan Seery’s Orchid & Onions column in The Saturday Star.
