Ireland/Davenport and BMW will be parting ways, after a brilliant decade spent creating global award-winning work on the BMW brand.
Sue Napier, MD of Ireland/Davenport says: “We have been truly honoured to work for the past 10 years on one of the world’s best loved and most well-known brands. We have created some truly memorable work, learnt so very much and are incredibly proud of the relationship we built.”
BMW was Ireland /Davenport’s founding Client. It is the account upon which the agency was established and it provided the momentum for growth. And for this, the agency is extremely grateful. Furthermore, significant work was created for the brand and global pitches were won. The relationship fostered between BMW and Ireland / Davenport over the ten years was exemplary.
“Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the success of this account over the past 10 years. It has been amazing. Thank you BMW for giving us the opportunity to create significant work for the brand and for opening the scope to global pitches, many of which we won. Thank you to the staff who worked on the account, for their dedication and incredible work ethic,” continues Napier.
Exciting times lie ahead for Ireland / Davenport with the imminent announcement of further developments in the agency’s service offer in the digital development and content space, as well as the continued evolution of its service offering.
Guy Kilfoil, General Manager: Brand Management BMW, Marketing Services BMW Group expresses his thanks to the agency for the many years of commitment, brilliant work and crazy work ethic. “The relationship between BMW and Ireland / Davenport has literally been the catalyst for the wonderful success our company has had over the past decade. For 8 of those 10 years we have been the premium segment leader in South Africa. We won 9 consecutive Coolest Car Brand Awards and a Coolest Overall Brand Award in the Sunday Times GenNEXT Survey. We won countless other accolades, from Assegais to Bookmarks and Loeries all because of the hard work, the commitment, the expertise and the brilliance of the I/D team,” he says. “I have the utmost respect for Ireland / Davenport as an agency, for their talent and as a team of people. As such it was an incredibly difficult decision for us to make and a very hard fought pitch process which was awarded on the narrowest of margins,” he says.
“It has been an incredible journey that we have travelled with BMW since our appointment on the account. We wish BMW and their new agency, Openco, all of the very best going forward.” concludes Napier.
