“Tell The World” well received by Capetonians

The social design project “Tell The World – I am proud to be African” by Heidi Pippan has received wide support by the public visiting the Open Design Cape Town Festival.

Tell The World asks Africans, why they are proud to be African. “That way we make people reflect on their positive inner resources, which symbolize the strength of a nation or a continent,” Heidi explained. These resources function as tools to design the future, perfectly matching the festival’s 2016 theme Design is for Tomorrow.

In 2014, Tell The World was first launched at the African Nations Football Championship CHAN and with its spectacular balloon release broadcast worldwide.

At Open Design CT the project is again supported by Austrian energy drink company POWER HORSE and reaching a new high in participants. “In the first five days, our Flag Girls have collected message cards from more than 2,000 people. All answers can be found on our Social Media platforms”, Heidi added.

On the festival’s closing day, August 23, a huge Africa-shaped word cloud of all answers will be revealed.
