Who is Tyron Wakeford and what do you do?
I am a street photographer that dabbles in all forms of photography. My passion for art and photography have left me chasing the raw side of life through photographic medium.
Tell us about your work?
My work focuses around the things we see and don’t see in our everyday lives, from moments to objects there is a split second to capture that perfect shot of it.
Although specifically I don’t have an answer, my work can focus on anything from street photography to portraiture. Which makes me feel versatile in my own right.
What inspires your work?
Life, that is what inspires me and my work, from the raw volatile world we live in to the gracefulness of a swan. My inspiration I suppose is fueled by my curiosity of how something would look through the viewfinder or framed.
You can capture just about anything if you open your mind and eyes with a camera within arm’s reach.
What are you currently working on?
Currently a personal project. I am on a Johannesburg mission. I am going around jhb with my camera, in search of the raw aspects and street life that make Johannesburg what it is.
I want to capture the unmistakable city for what it is, in a way we haven’t seen before.

What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?
Don’t do what I do, and if you decide to do what I do make sure you do it better than I could. Its defiantly not easy, and more truthfully it takes more than just hard work to be a photographer.
What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
There is absolutely no way to pick a moment, my career is my life, it is still progressing with many epic highlights and moment to come, which I will make sure I capture.
