Who is Duke and what do you do?
Duke is a Nigerian born creative and self-motivated graphic designer and illustrator, specialising in brand identity,graphic and illustration designs.
My style stems from various backgrounds in design, ranging from fashion to art and science.
The brain behind DUKE OF THE SI, a design company which started off as a clothing brand in 2006 from the dormitory room back in Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Nigeria.
This company later transformed into a media and design company offering products and services ranging from graphic design, apparel design, typography, media content development, and brand design and development, as well as layout design.
Tell us about your work?
My work can be described as pieces of art as I always look to combine cutting-edge design with a positive message, could be pop-culture,tribal with some urban swing, referencing the major cultures from around the continent.
What inspires your work?
My work is inspired by music, cultural backgrounds,the arts, events, and the natural environment.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on my apparel collection, clothing, and art in general.
What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?
The only advice would be not to give up, regardless of the curves ahead.
What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
Filming for the 2nd season of the Ayashisa Amateki, on SABC 1.
