Who is Eric and what do you do?
I am a Johannesburg based professional artist, I have studied fine art and illustration.
How would you define your style or art?
I would describe my art as expressive with a strong classical influence. I am strongly influenced by the great masters and I try to incorporate their timeless classic techniques with my own expressive style.
What inspires your work?
Art is pure passion for me, and to be able to create, express and share my passion daily, is my greatest inspiration.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently part of the We Love Mandela exhibition at the peacemakers museum in Mandela Square which then moves to London, I have created a series of historical buildings such as Chancellor House, Robben Island, Lilies leaf farm and Constitutional Hill, I plan to continue with this series.
What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?
The best advice I can give aspiring artists is if you truly passionate about art, get out there and go for it, learn to market yourself, believe in yourself and your gift and never take rejections personally, persistence is essential.
