January 16th, 2014 – Nina Morris has announced her resignation as CEO of MOJOMOTHERUSSIA effective from 31 December 2013. The agency however will not be losing the extensive experience she brings to the business as she will be taking up the position of Non-Executive Chair.

MOJOMOTHERUSSIA was born out of the merger between two award-winning agencies, 76 MotheRussia and Nina’s Morrisjones. The plan, from the start, was for her to eventually remove herself from the day to day running of the agency and take on a consultative role.

“The agreement was always for me to exit from actively being involved in the daily running of the agency,” says Morris of her resignation. “The timeline was not defined as to when I would leave, but I felt that the time was right to change the nature of the way I work with the agency.”  In her position as non-executive Chair, she will consult to the agency on a month-to-month basis and continue lending her knowledge to the new management team.

With the agency completing its first year in operation, Morris leaves with the knowledge that the agency is in very capable hands – the management in place has the correct leadership structure to adeptly take the business to the next level. Replacing her as CEO will be current MD, Thando Dingaan, who was the MD of 76Motherussia and spear-headed the merger with Morris early last year. “This is a very positive change and an exciting time for the extended management team at the agency” says Dingaan.

“I’m looking forward to starting 2014 as the CEO of MOJOMOTHERUSSIA and guiding the business on its growth path,” says Dingaan of the impending changes. “2013 brought with it some great new business wins, amongst them Unilever, Entyce, SAB Corporate, Hertz Car Rental and more recently Daimler-Chrysler Truck Division. We are encouraged by the outlook of the new year.”

For the early part of 2014 Morris will be taking some personal time after spending the best part of the last 30 years in the industry. However, her effective involvement in the industry continues uninterrupted as she remains Chair of the Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA) and retains her position on the Loeries Board.

The changes are a positive for the industry as a whole with Morris now in a position to share her experience across all channels, while at the same time providing the team at MOJOMOTHERUSSIA the benefit of her expertise. “We wish Nina all of the best going forward and look forward to our new journey of discovery as MOJOMOTHERUSSIA,” concludes Dingaan.
