 AAA Students Kick Butt at 2014 Loeries


Johannesburg 23rd September 2014 – The results of the 2014 edition of Loeries undeniably reaffirms the positioning of the AAA School of Advertisings as ‘The Birthplace of Brilliant.  The school has proven to be the leading education institution delivering talent to and for the advertising and communications industry.  This year, as was the case in previous years, the student category was dominated by the AAA School as it notched up an impressive haul of thirteen awards, including 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 7 Bronze.

This year, the AAA amassed a total of 42 finalists, more than any other institution on the short list. The number 42 is, in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, “The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything”, calculated by an enormous supercomputer over a period of 7.5 million years. Unfortunately no one knows what the question is. Perhaps however, it could be how many incredibly creative pieces of student work can one institution be shortlisted for?  Reflecting its heritage of providing the industry with some of the most creative and effective minds, AAA students, and let’s not forget their lecturers, accounted for more than a third of all Loeries Student finalists this year.

In the hotly contested agencies battle, the only ‘traditional medium’ to receive a Grand Prix this year was in the radio category, reaffirming radio’s position as a force to be reckoned with.  Radio campaigns remain highly reliant on the quality of the copywriting and the School is pleased to announce that the Randburg campus made a clean sweep of the student awards in this category.  The result reinforces the position of the AAA School as having the strongest copywriting faculty in the country.  For learners with strong writing skills, the School’s unrivalled success at the Loeries clearly positions it as the go-to institution for those looking to a brilliant and rewarding copywriting career in adland.

The AAA, owned by the industry through the Association for Communication and Advertising is the only internationally accredited advertising school in South Africa which provide students with numerous benefits. Among these is active industry involvement in terms of lecturer, real briefs, course work and most importantly, the school provides instruction based on the requirements of the industry in terms of  an advertising related qualification.
