Heineken® Challenges People to Venture Outside their Comfort Zone

Today Heineken® unveiled their new “Open Your City” campaign, launching in South Africa this summer. “While Heineken®drinkers know many of the hot spots in their cities, they may not always venture out of their comfort zones,” said Tjeerd Veldhuis (Marketing Manager, Heineken® South Africa). “We want the “Open Your City” campaign to inspire them to break from their usual habits and to explore the unknown secrets of their cities.”

The new “Cities of the World” TVC reminds consumers that every great city offers an endless adventure reinforcing that men of the world should never stop exploring their own urban back yard.

To celebrate the launch, Heineken® has produced a range of limited-edition Cities bottles, each featuring one of 6 Global cities: New York, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, London, Amsterdam and Johannesburg.

From the1st of October to the 31st of December, every Heineken®   City Edition bottle will feature a unique code under its bottle cap. Consumers who enter their codes via USSD to *120*222# will stand a chance to win a 72 hour, action-packed adventure in one of the 6 cities featured on the bottles.

Heineken® will also be hosting three epic events in Jozi, bringing the best of Rio, New York and Shanghai to life and celebrating Jozi as one of the greatest cities in the world.
