Grungy, dark and real street photography by Anele Khoza

Who is Anele and what do you do?
Anele Khoza is a Zimbabwean boy born in Bulawayo currently living in Joburg. I’m a self-taught graphic and web designer who has worked under various individuals in a digital content and strategy company. Over the years I have surrounded myself with people who are very influential, they influenced me to become a person who sits behind a computer researching, enhancing skills and discovering new things, above all I enjoy being behind the lens capturing images with meaning.
How would you define your style or art?
I would say Documentary but I think all photography genres are documentaries, so I will define my work as Urban Story Telling
What inspires your work?
Life, every aspect of it inspires, I think there is more to it than we think and also the fact that I’m always thriving to beat what I did the day before.
What are you currently working on?
I recently published my websites that I have been working on for a few months, my next project right now is to edit and publish most of the photos I have ever taken and maybe by looking at all those images new ideas will be sparked.
What advice would you give young creatives looking to do what you do?
The big problem with our generation is that we are all talented but lazy to think and act, we always wait for the perfect time to do something, what we don’t realise is that by not waiting and starting on something creates more perfect times and opportunities, so my advice to every one looking to do what I do… start working on something, the perfect time Is NOW!
What has been the highlight of your career thus far?
My website, it is a combination of everything I know so far.
