Meet The Design Duo Of Mam’Gobozi Design Factory

Mam’Gobozi Design Factory is a design duo made up of Nontokozo Tshabalala and Osmond Tshuma, founded in 2016 in Johannesburg.

The duo have always had the dream to create work and spaces that celebrate the Akrikan identity and allows them to grow in defining the role of the Afrikan designer.

They believe that this is particularly important because although the discipline of graphic design is founded on western principles they still find themselves discontent with its lack of representation and freedom to be defined by the individual who doesn’t belong to that culture.
This is a collection of work they have done individually and collaboratively which they believe shows the diversity that the Afrikan voice brings to the table.
This is done through the traditional forms of graphic design, storytelling, poetry, essays, typography and many forms we are yet to explore.
