 Advertising News Recap

Here’s a recap of advertising news from the previous week.

For the annual Jive summer campaign, DUKE, in collaboration with Mark1 and Positive Dialogue, created quite a stir in one of Cape Town’s most historic neighbourhoods.

The agency painted four of the iconic, colourful Bo-Kaap homes, as well as the adjacent Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum in stark, plain white in order to draw attention to the significance of colour in our lives.

The stunt served as a reminder for South Africans to not take the heritage and traditions of the Bo-Kaap for granted.

Valiant proudly celebrated its first ever win at this year’s prestigious Promax Africa Awards as their #UpdateYourStatus campaign was acknowledged with a Silver Muse in the Social Media campaign category.

Multichoice were thrilled to receive these awards as acknowledgment for this innovative work which allowed them to weave the DStv brand and content into conversations with their customers in an authentic and relatable way that drove increased content discovery in a fun, inventive way.

Through-the-line agency, Offlimit Communications (OLC) announced that they have bolstered their in-house digital and public relations divisions.

The digital and social media division will now offer an array of services that include but not limited to; strategy, content management, social media, SEO and SEM strategies, PPC,  web, multimedia, and CMS.

Red & Yellow Creative School of Business announced the ‘Ag Shame ;)’ Ads of the Year, a light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek campaign that reminds us to remember to laugh at ourselves every once in a while, and not take things too seriously.

The goal of this project is to inspire a new generation of thinkers, planners and business leaders to follow a career path within the creative industry.
